Visit Confluence in the heart of the Laurel Highlands
The Laurel Highlands of southwestern Pennsylvania might be the East Coast's most hidden gem. Confluence is arguably the best place to access it all.
Click here to check out our blog. Please take a look and let me know if you have questions or suggestions. I have so many more things to add. Please keep checking back.
Confluence hosts the warm and swimmable Yough Lake, has superb fishing on it's three main rivers (Youghiogheny, Casselman and Laurel Hill) and countless creeks (like White's and nearby Meadow Run). The kayaking and rafting is world class. We have everything from beginner friendly class II to world famous class IV-V runs like the Upper Yough, Big Sandy, Cheat and many, many more. Confluence is a main stop on the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) bike trail (Pittsburgh to Washington DC) and many hiking trails as well.
We have restaurants, antique stores and a great bike shop along with amenities like a grocery, hardware, produce store and full service gas station.
Confluence is five miles from the waterfalls and trails of Ohiopyle State Park, 20 minutes to Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob, 35 minutes to the Flight 93 Memorial and within 20-35 minutes from 4 full season resorts (Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, Wisp and Nemacolin).
The road and gravel biking is absolutely superb. There are a variety of close by mountain biking spots with more trails being built all the time, and great places to x-country ski and sled ride in the winter. There are wineries, Ft. Necessity, Laurel Caverns and much more.
Base your stay in Confluence. There is something for everyone to do year round.
